Welcome to the Marshall County School District

The Marshall County School District is composed of eight schools located throughout the county on five different campuses.

Marshall County is bordered by DeSoto and Tate Counties to the west, Lafayette County to the south, Benton County to the east and Shelby County (TN) to the North.

The Marshall County School District offers each of its K-12 students educational corridors marked with positive and stringent opportunities to ensure their success after graduation.

February Holidays

There will be no school on Monday, February 15, 2010, in conjunction with President’s Day.

Snow Days

Due to the fact that we were not able to attend school on January 7, 8 and 29, 2010, the built in snow days scheduled for April 16 and April 30, 2010, will no longer be considered holidays.  School will be in session on April the 16th and April the 30th to make up for two of the days missed on January 7 and 8, 2010.  The make-up day for January 31, 2010, will be determined at a later time.  

 

Co-curricular Activities

Parents are encouraged to support our students in their co-curricular endeavors.  Schedules for upcoming events can be obtained from individual school web-pages and/or school principals.  Basketball is approaching division tournament time and baseball and softball will begin soon.

February Testing  

There are no statewide assessments during the month of February.  

 

Progress Reports

Progress reports will go out February 3, 2010.  The end of the third nine weeks is March 5, 2010.

AYP/School Improvement Results

The MCSD has three schools that must offer school choice for the 2009-2010 school year based on AYP results.  The deadline to apply for school choice for students enrolled in schools in improvement during the choice window was August 28, 2009.  The window for school choice for students enrolled in those schools is now closed.  

 

Parent Survey

Interventions

Parent are encouraged to take advantage of various interventional software programs that have been installed at each school site.  Please contact your school site principal for more information concerning the computer software programs that may be utilized by your child!

 

ELL Parents

The MCSD encourages you to attend ELL Parent's Night for school updates.  We also encourage you to visit the school sites to determine services that might enhance your child's learning experience.
